Big Changes in the Coworking Landscape in the Past One Year!

June 6, 2018

The coworking industry is one that is steadily growing out of the shadows especially in Nigeria where statistics have changed from 70 coworking centres to twice the number in less than a year.

The benefits for both the operators and coworkers evidently pushing the movement which supports for innovation, flexibility, work life balance, startup growth and scalability are boundless!

With trends such as digitalization, engaging technology to improve speed and efficiency of work output, millennial personnel which make up 65% of coworking space users seeking work flexibility and engaged productivity to improved corporate bottom line by corporations seeking ways to facilitate growth, coworking keeps getting better and better.

On the global scale, the Coworking trend has also seen promotion of innovative disruptions supported by collaboration between coworking space operators and users such as developers, digital marketers, fintech companies and research based freelancers.

1.    We have seen accelerated speed to coworking spaces as larger global enterprises commit to flexibility as part of their long-term real estate strategy. This flexibility is catalysing the next-generation platform that seamlessly integrates meeting and collaboration spaces, flexible work spaces, coworking desks, acceleration hubs, incubation hubs, and in-building community programing under the same roof.

2.    We see more corporate coworking and interest, with the likes of @StanbicIBTC , @FirstBank and @HeritageBank  building innovation hubs, and the recently opened Facebook’s NG_HUB.

The space is just getting better!

3.    Hotels and restaurants all over the world have not been left behind as they have joined the concept too with the likes of @Spacious utilising restaurants for coworking during close hours.

Coworking seems to be getting more interesting and innovative. The above mentioned trends are the ones that might guide the coworking culture in Nigeria for the year 2018 and make it future ready.

For coworking spaces to succeed and offer something different in this era, there’s a need for them to up their game, and this is what Coworking Conference 2018 is set to do!
